The Maisonneuve Market building is modern and elegant. The market, which was constructed in 1995, has a large entrance and a covered outdoor patio where market customers can enjoy a bite to eat or a coffee from the commercial bakery inside. The market operates 7-days a week throughout the year. The operating hours are as follows:
- Monday to Wednesday: 8am to 6pm
- Thursday and Friday: 8am to 9pm
- Saturday: 8am to 6pm
- Sunday: 8am to 5pm
Inside the market there are number of full-time vendors and speciality shops selling cheeses, meat, fruit, vegetables and baked goods. A cheese stand is pictured above.
While the market is mostly composed of permanent food businesses, farmers can rent space and sell their produce. The producer pictured above was selling freshly cultivated corn from the back of their truck.
This permanent grocery store, with its wide selection of fruits and vegetables, is located to the rear of the market building. While this store makes an effort to sell local produce in season, the majority of the products appeared to come from outside of Quebec.
The market has an indoor and outdoor sitting area where market customers can sit and rest.

This panoramic photo was taken from the entrance of the new market building. The entrance faces onto a large public plaza which has the historic market building and fountain.
The historic market building, designed by Marius Dufresne, was first opened in 1914.
